REQUIREMENTS
The techniques used in this quilt are fusible appliqué, bias work, piecing and simple foundation piecing that is used in block 8. The fusible appliqué has been stitched with a combination of blanket and satin stitch by machine. The appliqué can be blanket stitched by hand and the requirements are also sufficient for needle turn appliqué. Peacock’s Garden has the option of quilt as you or making the quilt top only and having it professionally quilted. All blocks are available as separate patterns with each block containing cushion instructions. Requirements for the Complete Quilt Background fabric: 4.8 m : Backing fabric 4.2 m Note: It is recommended that the backing fabric be a small to medium non directional print with a cream background, this way a cream thread can be used on the top and in the bobbin to avoid tension problems. Batting (2.2 m wide): 2.5 m Recommended battings are Hobbs double sided fusible cotton batting or Matilda’s Own Bamboo Batting, the bamboo grips the fabric and works just as well as the double sided fusible cotton batting.
